Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in spam detection.

The Gravatar service may be provided with an anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) to see if you are using it. The privacy policy for the Gravatar service is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (GPS EXIF) included. Website visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you don’t have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set several cookies to store your login information and your screen display options. Login cookies last for two days and display options cookies last for one year. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the publication ID of the article you have just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we store your information

If you leave a comment, the comment and its content is stored indefinitely. This is so that we can recognize, evaluate and ultimately approve constructive comments for our community and can quickly move them to the target publication, rather than keeping them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store personal information that is provided to complete the profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (with the exception of the user name which cannot be changed). Site administrators can also view and edit such information.

What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Confidentiality and non-disclosure commitment

By enrolling in the TFP Hispanoamerica Institute courses, the student agrees to:

  • Do not record, reproduce, distribute or share the course content in any way without the explicit permission of TFP Hispanoamerica Institute.
  • Respect the confidentiality of all clinical material presented, whether in the form of vignettes, recordings or any other format.
  • Refrain from disclosing information that would allow the identification of any patient or clinical situation presented in the course material.
  • Understand that failure to comply with this commitment may not only have legal implications, but also ethical implications, and may result in immediate termination of access to the course and its materials.
  • Accept that, due to the international nature of the institute, there are specific challenges related to privacy laws in different countries, but all students are expected to act with integrity and respect, regardless of their geographic location.

This policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes.
